I was looking forward to this box, too. It arrived the same time as Citrus Lane. This one I’m happy with, though. I decided to keep this subscription for at least one more month.
Everything is vegan. I like meat but since me and dairy are also not friends vegan is usually safest when it comes to snack food.
I got the tasting box. Which is the smaller of the box options. My box was curated by Megan Roosevelt. She is a dietitian and founder of Healthy Grocery Girl. I’m not sure if everyone got her picked items or if there variations.
For every box you buy Love With Food donates a meal to a charity. This month the charity was Oregon Food Bank. Megan Roosevelt also chose this months charity.
I can’t review the items since I haven’t tried any of them yet but I will list them with pictures.
Hemp Hearts by Manitoba Harvest
Gluten Free, Vegan, Non-GMO
Ugh I hate these things. I got two Conscious boxes a year or two ago and these were both of them. I was not happy with this experience. These things are also just gross to me. Probably just fine mixed into certain things but I was just soured by the experience of getting them twice in Conscious Box.
Almond Butter Cacao Truffle by Two Moms in the Raw.
Non-GMO, Gluten Free, Organic, Vegan
This is a raw bar type thing. They are usually not my favorite. Plus unless I have a random craving I’m not a fan chocolate or chocolate tasting things.
Herbes De Provence by The Spice Hunter
Gluten Free, Organic, Vegan
Some people didn’t like getting spices in a snack box but I like spices. Sprinkle them on gluten free frozen french fries that you brushed with olive oil and then bake them and suddenly you have a delicious snack instead of nasty frozen fries. That is probably exactly how I’ll be trying out these herbs.
Then there are coupons and flyers for other products and some of the included products. There is a $10 gift card for Urban Remedy. I’d love to use it but you have to buy $50 worth of stuff to get $10 off (so its really a coupon made to look like a gift card) and i’d never be able to afford that. It expires Mat 31, 2015. If anyone wants it the code is: LWF29U0EVP8GWOV. That first 0 is a zero and the second O is the letter O. It’s only valid at UrbanRemedy.com. If you use it just please let me know and I’ll remove the code from this post.
Love With Food offers three options. The Tastings Box with has around 8 snacks in it for $12 including shipping. The Deluxe box which has between 16 and 20 snacks (often these are the same snacks as the tastings box but in doubles – prob good for if you have two kids 🙂 for $20 a month including shipping. And the Gluten Free box which has 8 to 12 Gluten Free snacks and is $29 a month including shipping. If you order a 6 month or a year long subscription instead of paying month to month you can save money with any of the options. You also get points for each box you buy and you can use the points to buy things in the Love With Food shop. Plus LWF donates a meal to children charities for each box you buy (two meals for each deluxe and gluten free box).
