I received this last Wednesday but had a busy week. So, there was a bit of a delay in getting this review written.
Hmm. This is the second Birchbox I haven’t been fond of. I’m beginning to think maybe I should cancel Birchbox. I like their points system, though. Which is enough to make me keep getting it for a while longer. I do generally at least get one thing I like trying. I got 3 this time that I at least wanted to try.
Hydro Nutritive Moisturizing Shampoo
Hydro Nutritive Repairing Conditioner
This has avocado in it. So, I couldn’t use it. I gave it to my brother, though. He liked it. *shrug* I’m really sick of getting shampoo and conditioner in boxes. I can never use them since I have allergic reactions to 90% of shampoos and conditioners. Plus it takes up two of my items. Which isn’t really fair. I wish boxes would stop sending them.
Cynthia Rowley Beauty
I haven’t tried this yet but it is a product I’m going to keep and at least test out.
Intral Redness Relief Soothing Serum
I was intending to keep this but I had an immediate reaction to it. So, I had to wash it off before being able to see if it actually did anything it was supposed to do.
LAQA & CO
Sheer Lip Lube Pencil
I love this color and I plan to keep it.
I don’t know that its product that I like it enough to buy a full size of it but I like the sample. Its minty smelling and tingles my lips but doesn’t seem to cause an allergic reaction. So, I would probably try to get more samples or trade for a full size one but I wouldn’t pay $20 for one retail.
I like a couple products but just nothing I feel amazingly excited about. I’m super bummed about the shampoo and conditioner. I’ve only gotten 3 Birchboxes ever and two of them contained shampoo and conditioner. I don’t like this pattern.
I do still recommend Birchbox for other people, though. My own allergies just make any subscription a risk for me. They have an awesome points system (you get points for every box you purchase, points for products you review after you receive them and points for referrals and then every 100 points equals $10 of credit to spend in the Birchbox store) and they do always seem to send high value, high end product samples.
