Concealer Duo in Vanishing Vanilla
I received a $20 credit toward an Honest Beauty purchase. I think anyone that already had an Honest Company account and ongoing bundle subscriptions that also signed up for the Honest Beauty mailing list received the credit. I know there was some kind of criteria for who received it, anyway. I’m not sure exactly what the criteria was. That’s my best guess.
I used my $20 to purchase an Honest Beauty Concealer Duo. I’ve been in need of a good concealer. So, this was my priority product.
I chose Vanishing Vanilla. This is the lightest shade they offer. Which could be an issue for anyone that is super porcelain pale. I’m pale but not the palest a person can be and this shade worked perfectly for me.
I applied the concealer over OCC Tinted Moisturizer and with a BB cream over it. It looked great. I didn’t look like I was wearing makeup but my skin looked even and healthy. I used both shades of concealer to make the contours of my face look natural (darker shade under my eye and on my nose and chin, lighter shade on my eyelids and around the inner and outer corners of my eyes). It worked well. I wish I could post pictures but my camera never shows makeup well and the lighting in my house is horrible. So, my photos of my face didn’t turn out well.
My only complaint is that the concealer is just a bit dry but that does help the coverage. It just means it doesn’t spread and blend well by itself. I’m thinking maybe if I put on extra moisturizer first it would help it spread to wear by itself. I haven’t tried this yet. Overall I would choose this formula over a more oily one despite the issues caused by that. I think it could be made to work by itself with some effort and it has awesome coverage.
I also found that the concealer goes on better with a concealer brush than it does when using your fingers. Brush application isn’t something I’m use to but I think I can get use to it.
Overall it’s a great concealer. I admit that I haven’t really tried high end concealers. So, I have no idea how it compares to other similarly priced concealers. I really like it, though. I haven’t found a concealer I like in ages. So, it’s nice to have one I like, finally.
I’m really eager to try more Honest Products, So, far this and the samples in my Bundle trial are all I’ve gotten to try. I’ll get my first bundle sometime next month. So, keep an eye out for reviews of those products.
The Honest Beauty concealer duo is $20 or you can get it as part of a Bundle. In the Beauty Bundle you get 3 products of your choice for $50. Plus you can add an additional 5 products with a discount. So, if you want the more expensive products the bundles are definitely the best deal.
