This is my third shipment from Dollar Shave Club. This one was a surprise. I had two active accounts and wasn’t aware that the older one was still active.
Previously I had received the Executive razor and cartridges. This time I received the 4X. Which is the mid-range razor. It costs $6 with free shipping for four cartridges and you get a free handle with your first shipment.
I don’t see a huge difference in the blades either besides color. I had a slightly harder time snapping the blade into the handle but that may have been me doing it incorrectly and not an actual issue with the razor’s locking mechanism.
As far as the quality of the shave, I think it was better than the executive. I shaved my legs, bikini line and arms with it and it gave a smooth and nick free shave. I’m thinking this may be the better option for women as opposed to the executive. The executive is for tougher hair than women generally have.
Also, included was a sample of the Post Shave Cream. Since this seemed geared for face I was hesitant to use it on my legs. So, I can’t really review it. I gave it to my husband but he hasn’t used it yet.

My only complaint is that while they advertise that women can use their razors and women’s razors don’t have to be pink and that’s certainly true I do wish they had color options and maybe some more products geared toward women. But I use the shave butter and it’s awesome. It’s really the post shave products I wish existed in women’s options. We shave areas that have different skin textures than men do. So, tailored products would be nice.
That said, I still love the razors and body butter. Look for a stand alone review of the body butter eventually on this blog.
